Voices

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in forever, but today I have a new piece for you! It's a poem about... well its complicated. Love, peace, war, hatred, and voices. It's hard to explain, and easier just to read, which you can do below! Thanks for reading and have a great day!

(Warning- The following has a deep message. While this contains nothing vulgar, it may be advised that those under the age of ten proceed with caution, although for those older I believe it to be perfectly fine.)

Voices
Fencer6

Can you hear them?
Hush you!
Remain silent;
retain your calm.

Has the noise
emerged to you yet?
Have you heard,
the voices of the voiceless?

Once you have heard it,
you will know.
Once you have heard it,
you’ll never forget.

The single sound
of the bomb
-like a hailstone raining down-
crashing into the city
of Nagasaki.

The screams;
the horrid,
death-bound screams
as innocent lives
were vaporized.

Once you’ve heard them,
you won’t mistaken,
the shouts of the unjustified
and the cries of the tyrannized;
as they rocked the streets of Missouri
and shook the foundation
of our nation.
Listen closer and you will hear
the horrid screaming,
as two towers,
that had once scraped the heavens,
came crashing down,
dragging a feeling of security
along with it.

What’s worse
was the shouts of hatred
that ensued.
The cries of war;
the cries of revenge.

But more horrifying than
the chaos that surrounds us
is the sound
that can only be heard
if you listen ever so hard.
For this
is the hardest to hear;

If you listen close enough,
than you will hear it.
You will hear...
silence.

For never when the voice of the devil is strongest
should anyone remain silent.
Never should one with the power to speak
retreat to their own solitude of peace
and let others be tortured
by the noises around them.

Instead sing a song,
and let it be a symphony
of peace,
love, and kindness

So be still.
Listen to every voice of the world.
Do not exclude a single one.
And slowly
add to it
your own hymn.

The Sticky Wicket at Ms. Nickit's

Hello everyone! Today I have a little poem I wrote in a little bit of free time I had during my Creative Writing class. It's just a fun rhyme that I kind of find funny. Hope you like it!

I was in quite the sticky wicket.
My family had gone to eat with Ms. Nickit,
I certainly wasn't the one to pick it,
Her cooking so horrible you could hardly lick it!

She had to be the worst cook,
Her dishes tasted gook,
And appeared so bad I could hardly look.
You could tell her recipes weren't from a book.

Nevertheless I thought it would be rude,
And damper mood,
If I were shrewd,
And told her I could hardly down her food.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned!

Welcome to the Writing Shack!

Hello everyone! I'm Fencer6, the owner and operation of this blog! I'm so happy to finally be opening this website. I absolutely love writing and arts of all sorts, really (although I've never been the most fond of dancing, no offense all of the dancers in the world). I write a lot of different cool things, but without sharing it with others I don't see a lot of point to my work. So, I'm going to be posting a lot of my pieces of literature on this site. I may also do a little reviewing of books and a couple news stories on the latest works of fiction out there, but otherwise I will stay true to this sites' purpose. I am very glad to call myself an artist and active member of the art world, a world of dreams and darers who throw themselves into the world and let their emotions be poured out for the whole world to see and judge. I thank you for reading and supporting my work. I hope you find in interesting!

Additional notes: I will try to keep this site as kid-friendly as possible. No inappropriate pictures or jokes will be uploaded at anytime, and swear words will not be used. Do note, though, that some pieces of writing may have dark themes, so I would exercise at least a small bit of caution if you are a very young person navigating this site. I will try not to post anything overly horrific, and if anything could be considered a little on the shady side I will be sure to put a warning and/or age recommendation in bold at the top.

All works of writing (unless otherwise specified) posted on this blog are property of me, Fencer6, as of the day posted.
